The Fort Bend Junior Service League "Fire & Ice" Charity Ball, held at Safari Texas Ranch, proved to be the "coolest" place in town the evening of Friday, February 9, 2007.  As Master of Ceremonies, Randy Hames  of KILT's famed "Hudson & Harrigan" morning program, entertained the crowd as he led the evening's programs.  The auctioneering skills of County Commission James Patterson helped to "heat" things up during the live and silent auctions.  Post-auction, attendees “sizzled” on the dance floor as they mixed it up to the sounds of Wall Street.   

With tremedous support from the local community through inkind contributions, auction donations, sponsorships, and ticket reservations, the 2007 FBJSL Charity Ball raised $94,000 for its co-beneficiaries - the Fort Bend CORPS and the Fort Bend Junior Service League’s Community Assistance Fund.   The Fort Bend CORPS works to revitalize low-income areas in Fort Bend County by "helping neighborhoods improve the quality of life one home at a time".  The FBJSL Community Assistance Fund, a new initiative of the Fort Bend Junior Service League, is a grant program available to nonprofit agencies serving Fort Bend County. This fund has been set up to help other charities address critical or basic needs, develop pilot programs, and expand services to the community.
