GLITTER & GLOSS

"It's Not Over 'Til It's Pink"

Presented by:
Fort Bend Teen Service League

FBJSL is pleased to announce that Glitter & Gloss is returning! Members of the Fort Bend Teen Service League, a project of FBJSL, will be hosting the event that was previously organized by the adult members of the League. This enthusiastic group of young ladies will be creating a spa party atmosphere for any girl that loves being a girl. Included in the day's events will be makeovers, shopping, glam stations and more, as well as a runway fashion show highlighting the latest trends for young girls, 'tweens and teens!

The event will benefit the FBJSL Community Assistance Fund, a program that funds scholarships as well as grants to local agencies that require funding for basic or emergency needs, pilot programs, or expansion of significant services to the Fort Bend Community.

Sponsorship and underwriting opportunities are available from $250 to $5,000. For more information, please contact Shannon Woodruff or Tammy Blackburn at glitterandgloss@fbjsl.com

2008 Glitter & Gloss

Fort Bend Junior Service League's 2008 Glitter & Gloss Committee, along with G&G Presenting Sponsor, JAVANI Med Spa, were pleased to present a $15,500 check to the FBJSL's Community Assistance Fund (CAF).

The CAF was created to provide FBJSL with a means to extend the League's financial support even farther in the community by providing multiple smaller grants to a greater number of charitable causes in Fort Bend County. These funds allow the League to reach even more children, adults, and families in areas where we are not able to provide service with our volunteers or do not have regularly budgeted monies allocated. Through the CAF grants, the League has been able to financially support such charities as Cinderella / Cinderfella Project, Houston-Fort Bend Children's Museum, Fort Bend Lawyers Care, Houston Achievement Place, Keep Sugar Land Beautiful, Literacy Council of Fort Bend, and Second Mile Mission.

FBJSL's Glitter & Gloss Committee was grateful for the many dedicated volunteers and sponsors who gave their time and treasure to help make the first annual Glitter & Gloss such a success. Sponsors for the 2008 Glitter & Gloss included: JAVANI Med Spa; Safari Texas Ranch; The Phoenix Design Group; The Schkade Family; Scott & KK West; Stogie's Fine Cigars; Wings-n-Things; Stephenson Properties; Von & Yolanda Celestine; Matt & Melissa Hayslip; Scott & Cari Middaugh; Michael & Rebekah Pickering; Joe Roman M.D., P.A.; Travis & Julissa Rucker; Dr. Shel Wellness & Medical Spa; Sterling McCall Toyota; Amici Ristorante; Michael & Shannon Bloesch; Fort Bend Academy of Arts & Dance; Fort Bend Focus Magazine; Dr. Dennis Halford, D.D.S.; David & Shayne Newell; Newman Image; PB & J Pavement Marking; The Jeweled Butterfly; Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers - Sugar Land; Betty Foreman in honor of Channing Smith, Candace Hamberg, Kim Morrell, Louis & Paula Talbert; Urban Hair Studio.

With the help of our wonderful community, FBJSL has raised over one million dollars since 2001 that has been given back to the Fort Bend Community.

The Fort Bend Junior Service League is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was formed for charitable and educational purposes. As a growing organization of women, the League is committed to promoting volunteerism, to developing the potential of women and to improving the Fort Bend community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

FBTSL Advisory Board Members will be helping the Teen members plan the 2010 Glitter & Gloss event. Three members of the Advisory Board are Tammy Blackburn, Shannon Woodruff, and Susie Scarborough.
