Our Fundraisers
In addition to providing direct service to charitable organizations, fundraising efforts assist FBJSL in fulfilling its mission to help improve Fort Bend County. Each year, the League hosts fundraising events with proceeds directly benefiting local charities. FBJSL's fundraising efforts have enabled the League to contribute $1.8 million back to the community since its inception in 2001.
Diana Winebar (center), Development Coordinator, Fort Bend County Museum Association, accepts a $5,000 check from FBJSL Beneficiary Review Committee members Kim Morrell, Raquel Smith, and Terri Stuart. ÊFunds will be used to restore and maintain period authentic clothing for the living history museum, such as those worn by Leslee Gupton, 1830s site living historian, and JR Thomas, 1830s site lead.
Event co-chairs Kelley Stephenson, Marcie Payne and Jennifer Sebesta present checks to beneficiary representatives Lidya Osadchey of ESCAPE Family Resource Center and Wende Lewis-Buckley of The Fort Bend County Community Partners Rainbow Room. Each organization received $8,000, the proceeds from the FBJSL 2008 Pancakes & Pajamas event held at The Honor Roll School.
